Background
Amanda initially followed her parent's footsteps and went into the Catering and Hospitality industry as a Trainee Chef. She grew up in Farnham, Surrey and moved to the Purbeck area ten years ago. Amanda started her career in Financial Services in 2001 in the personal lending sector. After attending night school to obtain the necessary financial planning qualifications she joined LV= in 2005 as a Tied Financial Adviser, soon being promoted to a Whole of Market Adviser.
From here Amanda was self employed for a short while but soon realised that she much preferred to be in a team environment and wanted to work with a firm who had similar principles and values to herself. Amanda was delighted when she discovered that Beacon House were looking for an adviser and soon settled in.
Amanda has the Certificate in Financial Planning and is committed to achieving Diploma Status by the end of 2012.
She has the Certificate in Mortgage Advice, Certificate in Regulated Equity Release and the Certificate in Long -Term Care Insurance and is working towards Later Life Adviser Accreditation.
Hobbies and Interests
Amanda is living "The Good Life", she lives in a gatekeeper's cottage on a private country estate with her husband, ten hens and three ducks. When she's not tending to the vegetable garden you're likely to find her walking, swimming in the river, cooking, eating or reading. To counteract her love of food she often goes for a run and signs up for challenges to raise money for charities.
A sociable person, Amanda enjoys organising parties, visiting friends and family and meeting new people. She is one of Dorset's Regional Representatives for the Outdoor Swimming Society and loves travelling to new swimming spots and organising local dips.
