Gemma Cairns

Gemma joined Baker Davies in October 2010 and quickly slotted in to her new role as Client Account Manager.

"My previous job involved similar activities for another IFA firm and as I am familiar with 1st, the back office system we use, I didn't need much training."

Gemma did a year of secretarial studies at college, then a two year BTEC GNVQ course in Business, Finance and Law, before starting her first job in customer services with Liverpool Victoria. She then moved into Financial Services before progressing on to work for IFA firms. She has FPC1 & 2 and would like to continue her studies working towards her Diploma in Financial Services.

What do you enjoy about working in financial services?
I have always enjoyed working in a customer service role as I enjoy talking to clients and helping with their enquiries.

Hobbies and interests
"I share a lovely house with my boyfriend Chris and our dog Suzie. I am a keen DIY enthusiast and spend a lot of my free time looking at new ways to decorate our home. I am local to the area and originally from Canford Heath (near Poole) so I have a lot of close friends and family that I keep in touch with."
